ARTIST STATMENT

I am most interested in exploring the unseen, but felt, connection to our natural world.

Through mindful exploration of my surrounding environment at a macro and micro level,I aim to map

a moment in time within the evolutionary progress of life.

I observe natural life cycles in both nature and urban environments - growth, decay, rebirth, regeneration - and traslate the changing rhythms onto canvas.

My process relies heavily on learned alchemical experiments, intuition and physicality.

An intensive layering and re- working of the canvas results in highly tactile and seductive surfaces:

papers are applied, paint is poured on, sanded off, manipulated with heat, wind and water, glazed, enameled and reapplied until a certain  energetic frequency is achieved.

This expressive mark making process acts as a conduit for connecting me to the natural world.
